5 Pillars of Islam Salah and Belief System

The practice of Islam means to submit yourself to Allah S.W.T. This submission is based on the tenets of Islam, which are called the 5 pillars of Islam. All Muslims should perform and take care of these 5 pillars of Islam. These are explained below to learn islam:

1- Profession of Faith (Shahadah)
This is the first pillar of Islam and the most basic aspect of the Islamic Belief System. It states that there is no God but Allah, and Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is His messenger. The profession of this belief makes someone a Muslim, and then he/she becomes liable to practice it throughout life.

2- Salah, Daily Prayer
Five times a day prayer is expected of every Muslim. Men are urged to visit the Masjid and pray alongside all other Muslims; women may pray at home. Salah is done facing Makkah, and before doing it certain requirements must be satisfied. As one stands with hands folded in front of Him, bows down, kneels, and touches the ground with the forehead, the prayer is a symbol of respect toward Allah S.W.T., and of humility.

Every Muslim gathers at noon on Friday for the Jumma Prayer, which comprises a unique sermon called Khutba. Muslims also get together for unique prayers for funeries, Eid ul Fitr, and Eid ul Adha. The Pillars of Salah in Arabic stress acts and recitations during prayer, so guaranteeing correct alignment with Islamic rules.

3- Almsgiving (Zakah)
Islam’s third pillar is zakah. The Holy Quran makes several references to it, most usually in line with Salah. Muslims are supposed to distribute their riches to people less fortunate in the society. For those who satisfy Nisaab, the necessary level of wealth, it is mandatory. Those who qualify have to donate 2.5% of their riches to the less fortunate. As stated in the Holy Quran, this act guarantees economic balance and satisfies the right of the underprivileged.

4- Fasting (Siyaam)
Fasting from dawn to dusk is the norm for Muslims during Ramadan. Except for the sick, traveling, or exempt, adult Muslims must fast from eating, drinking, and other forbidden acts during daylight hours under this fourth pillar of Islam. Discipline, patience, and compassion for the poor are learned through fasting. Teaching humility and gratitude brings Muslims closer to Allah S.W.T.

5- Pilgrimage to Makkah (Hajj)
The Hajj is Islam’s fifth pillar. Muslims who can afford and travel must do this. Tawaf (seven rounds around the Kaaba), Zamzam water, traveling between Safa and Marwa, and visiting Mina and Arafat are all part of Hajj. Also, pilgrims visit Madinah to send Durood and Salam to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
